About Viktor

Viktor — Syracuse Biomechanics

A bit about me, how I got into this work, and what I bring to the people I coach.

From Syracuse, back to Syracuse

Born in Syracuse in 1990, I remember enjoying the patches of wilderness near Split Rock as a young boy. I loved to run around and play with bugs with my best friend, make terrariums, and enjoy sports with the other kids in the neighborhood. My family moved away when I was around 8 years old, and has since come back.

It is a great honor to be able to support others in living with pain-free movement in the place where my movement joys began.

What brought me to Functional Patterns

I am a certified Human Biomechanics Specialist with Functional Patterns (Level 2 / HBS2). What brought me to Functional Patterns training was physical pain.

During a long mountain hike at age 32, intense pain in my back and ankle left me feeling scared about whether I could sustain the movement activities I held dear. As I grew to understand this training system, it was both strangely familiar and unlike any other training I'd experienced.

At the age of 36, my devotion to this training has helped me move better than I ever have. The principles and process of FP have helped me resolve lower back, ankle, and debilitating knee pain to the point that I can now sprint without pain at all.

I have worked with individuals ranging from the ages of 9 to 82. If you have chronic physical pains and are looking for a solution, I have the patience, knowledge, and precision to help you train your body, slowly, step-by-step, in a direction of sustainable and pain-free movement.

Honed at Functional Patterns Costa Mesa

For over a year, I trained clients at Functional Patterns Costa Mesa — one of the most established and high-reputation FP gyms in the world. That time gave me the chance to apply the methodology with a broad range of people (athletes, office workers, seniors, and clients working through chronic injury) and to refine my craft alongside some of the most experienced practitioners in the system.

It's where I sharpened my eye for movement and the patience required to coach real, sustainable change. I bring that same depth of practice to every session in Syracuse.

My commitment to you

I have committed my life to helping others train their body as a whole, integrated system around the functions of standing, walking, running, and throwing. In this, I support others in harnessing their primal locomotive power and efficiency as human beings.

My Own Progress

Proof that this works — on me. Three years of devoted Functional Patterns training: back, front, and side comparisons, plus my current pain-free gait.
